Microsoftfoundation were keen to share the amazing and heartwarming story of a girl’s challenge to be heard, and the impact of its support and technology was having on the girl’s school she attendedin Yuma, India.
We were asked to take the approach of a mini-documentary and to follow the build-up to a key event at the school with particular focus on one pupil. With only four days in India to cover everything our first challenge was the budget, followed by some tricky dealings with Indian bureaucracy, as our start dates had to be bought forward to fit in with the school timetable. This was all over come, though our main challenge would be time with our star pupil. Limited access would be given because of the school timetable and there would be no access to family outside of the school, so we had to build are activities around small windows of opportunity.
We sent a documentary-style team to the heart of India to make this beautiful
film,casting of our heroine Asha was carried out via Skype. Then with less than one weekon the ground, our team were tasked with creating the story of Asha’s challenge,pulling together all locations, supporting cast & extras and ensuring the film was bothheart-warming & lookedstunning.
